It started in March of 2003 in Las Vegas, NV with the idea of being the first Madden Tournament to GUARANTEE and give out $10,000 to the winner! The result, 256 Gamers/Ballers and over $14,000 in cash prizes! At the time, no other Madden Tournament or EA Challenge had given out that big of a prize. And it soon changed the Madden Tournament scene forever! Immediately after Mega Bowl I, numerous copycat tournaments emerged attempting to duplicate the Mega Bowl magic but sadly failed to live up to the Ballers Club $10,000 minimum guarantee and tournament standards.
